Meeting to Strengthen Cooperation between the Sheikh Al-Taher Al-Zawi Center and the National Library of Russia
The Sheikh Al-Taher Al-Zawi Center for Studies, Research and Heritage Manuscript Verification held a meeting with the National Library of Russia to follow up on the outcomes of the First International Conference on African Manuscript Heritage, recently held in St. Petersburg.
The meeting discussed the success of the conference and its academic and institutional participation, as well as future mechanisms for cooperation between the Sheikh Al-Taher Al-Zawi Center and the National Library of Russia in the fields of manuscripts and cultural heritage.
The meeting also addressed the collection and preparation of the conference papers and research contributions for publication, with the aim of compiling and printing the conference proceedings in a unified academic publication that documents the research and contributions presented during the conference.
The two sides also discussed ways to maintain coordination and develop future areas of cooperation, including the exchange of expertise and knowledge and the implementation of future academic and cultural projects related to the study, preservation, cataloguing and digitization of Arab and African manuscripts.
The meeting reflects the importance of continued institutional communication between the Sheikh Al-Taher Al-Zawi Center and the National Library of Russia, building on the outcomes of the conference and opening new avenues for academic and cultural cooperation between the two institutions.
