Signing of a Cooperation Agreement between the Sheikh Al-Taher Al-Zawi Center and Mamma Haidara Library

As part of the activities of the First International Conference on African Manuscript Heritage, a cooperation agreement was signed today in Saint Petersburg between the Sheikh Al-Taher Al-Zawi Center for Studies, Research and Heritage Manuscript Verification in Libya and Mamma Haidara Library in the Republic of Mali, represented by its Director, Dr. Abdel Kader Haidara.

The agreement reflects the shared commitment to strengthening academic and cultural cooperation between institutions dedicated to the preservation of manuscript heritage in Libya and Africa, and to developing joint initiatives in the study, preservation, documentation, cataloguing, and digitization of manuscripts.

The agreement also provides opportunities for the exchange of knowledge and expertise among researchers and specialists, as well as cooperation in academic and research projects related to African manuscript heritage, including the organization of joint seminars, conferences, and scientific activities.

Cooperation with Mamma Haidara Library represents an important step in the Center’s efforts to establish academic partnerships with specialized heritage institutions and to strengthen connections between Libyan, African, and international researchers and institutions.

Through this partnership, the Sheikh Al-Taher Al-Zawi Center reaffirms its commitment to contributing to the preservation of manuscript heritage and supporting scholarly efforts to safeguard this heritage and make it accessible to future generations.
