Awḍaḥ al-Masālik
This is a didactic poem on jurisprudence composed by the renowned Kuwaiti scholar Uthman bin Sanad al-Failakawi (d. 1242 AH). It is based on Muqaddimat al-Amrusi—a Maliki legal text that serves as an abridgment of Mukhtasar Khalil. The author supplemented the original work with additional chapters on jurisprudence, bringing the total length of the poem to 2,212 verses, a task he completed in Basra. The book is significant as a rare scholarly reference representing the era when the Maliki school flourished in Kuwait; it aims to facilitate the mastery of legal rulings for students. Dr. Abdulrahman al-Haqqan edited the text, drawing upon manuscript copies and conducting a comprehensive study of both the poet and the author of the original source material.
