As part of its efforts to foster scientific partnerships and preserve Libyan heritage, a delegation from the Sheikh Tahir Al-Zawi Center for Studies, Research, and Heritage Verification, represented by Dr. Salah Al-Shaab, conducted a working visit to the Ghadames Association for Heritage and Manuscripts in the historic city of Ghadames.

The Center’s delegation was received by Mr. Abu Al-Qasim Bashir Yusha, Chairman of the Association. The meeting addressed ways to build a fruitful scientific partnership and coordinate efforts between the two institutions in areas of mutual interest.

The visit culminated in the signing of a contract between the Center and Mr. Abu Al-Qasim Bashir Yusha, in his capacity as the literary manager of the estate of his late father, the historian Bashir Qasim Yusha. The agreement is for the reprinting of four of his most prominent works, which are considered essential sources on the history and heritage of Ghadames. The works slated for publication include:

1 Index of Ghadames Manuscripts – Part One.

2 Index of Ghadames Manuscripts – Part Two (Manuscripts of the Tandrin Mosque).

3 Documents of Ghadames: Commercial, Historical, and Social Documents (1228 – 1310 AH) – Part One.

4 Documents of Ghadames: Commercial, Historical, and Social Documents (949 – 1343 AH) – Part Two.

This step is part of the Center’s strategy aimed at reviving and disseminating the primary sources of Libya’s scientific, historical, and cultural heritage.
