The book, comprising 11 volumes and over 6,334 pages, was published by the center, bringing this landmark out of the darkness of manuscripts and into the light of publication after being withheld from readers for over 25 years—the period during which researchers dedicated themselves to this blessed work.
What distinguishes this edition is that it was produced entirely by Libyan efforts, from editing and supervision to discussion. Furthermore, it addressed the distortions, corrected the misspellings, and rectified the errors that marred, marred, and disfigured the original text. So that the text may regain its splendor and beauty, and take its rightful place as a precious gem, protected from illusion and error, a landmark of the Maliki school of thought, a pillar of the pure Sunnah, and a cornerstone of Islamic jurisprudence.
This landmark was supervised and discussed by a select group of distinguished professors and scholars, namely: His Eminence the Grand Mufti of Libya, Professor Dr. Al-Sadiq Al-Ghariani (may God preserve him); the meticulous scholar of Islamic jurisprudence, Professor Dr. Imran Al-Arabi (may God have mercy on him); the linguistic scholar of Islamic jurisprudence, Professor Dr. Abdul Salam Abu Naji (may God have mercy on him); the renowned linguist and exegete, Professor Dr. Ahmed Omar Abu Hajar (may God preserve him); the renowned jurist and expert in inheritance law, Professor Dr. Hamza Abu Faris (may God preserve him); the renowned theologian, Professor Dr. Al-Siddiq Yaqoub (may God have mercy on him); the expert consultant and researcher, Professor Dr. Jumaa Al-Zariqi (may God preserve him); and Professor Dr. Imran Muhammad Saeed (may God have mercy on him). This edition is honored by the foreword of Professor Dr. Hamza Abu Faris, member of the Research and Sharia Studies Council at the Libyan Fatwa House and member of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy.
It has also been reviewed and examined by two of the most eminent scholars of the Islamic world: the esteemed scholar, researcher, and hadith expert, Professor Dr. Ahmed Mibed Abdul Karim, member of the Council of Senior Scholars at Al-Azhar, and the learned scholar, researcher, and meticulous professor, reciter, and jurist, Professor Dr. Abdul Hadi Hamittu, member of the Muhammadia League of Scholars in Morocco.
